WHAT A DIFFERENCE A DECADE MAKES
WHEN ONE
TAKES A BACKYARD PERSONALLY

A BETTER BACKYARD

When we first moved into our house in 1987, our yard was wide open.

We could see into our neighbors' backyards

but, fortunately, we had only Whatcom Falls Park to the south of us.

Most of all, I had a lot of grass to mow

The first thing I did was plant azaleas and bushes

and more bushes....

then I not only had a lot of grass to mow, but a lot of bushes to mow around.

Then, I asked Mom to help.

Now my yard looks like this...

..
and this...

and this...

and this...

which on hot summers days, makes me look like this....
